Junior Level 3

Level 3: "Get Tournament Ready" Intermediate Junior Golf League / Introduction to Tournament Play

Okeeheelee Golf Course and Park Ridge Golf Course The "Get Tournament Ready" Intermediate Junior Golf League is a monthly, four week program offered to juniors from Level 2 or having relative experience. The class meets on Saturdays, 3:00 p.m.at Okeeheelee. The Park Ridge program is 5 (five) weeks and meets on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m.

Each week the course introduces the juniors to organized play and consists of:

  • Skills training
  • USGA Rules of Golf
  • Proper course etiquette
  • Course strategy
  • 4 or 7 hole competitive league

This league offers three divisions of play.
1) Mini Tour - 4 holes, 2-person scramble
2) JGFA Tour - 4 holes, individual stroke play
3) Koepka Tour - 7 holes, individual stroke play (Only at Okeeheelee)

Players will advance to Level 4 based upon the Professional's recommendation, age & parent and junior consent.

Pre-Registration Fee:

  • Full Program at Okeeheelee & Park Ridge:  $80 JGFA member / $100 Non-JGFA member

Day of Program Registration Fee:

  • Full Program at Okeeheelee & Park Ridge:  $90 JGFA member / $110 Non-JGFA member
  • League Only at Okeeheelee:  $65 JGFA member / $85 Non-JGFA member

When and where did golf begin?

What is the origin of the word "golf"? Does it stand for "gentleman only, ladies forbidden"?

What are the names of the old golf clubs (mashie, niblick, etc.), and what do they mean?
